M- midish body with a creeper stingy carb that grows and really efferveses nicely. Loads of citrus with lemons limes and tangerines and a bit of grapefruit but to a lesser extent, tropical fruits from the citra hops and funky yeast. T- opens up with a tug of war between some of the more citrusy hops I've come across and a assertive yet not overdone brett funk. S- huge crisp citrus fruits and a clean semi funky brett hit. Head settles very slowly leaving tons of sticky lace on the glass. Side by side with the cardonay barrel aged version.Ī- comes to me with almost three fingers of rock dense off white head that rises above the glass a good inch and holds nicely. im so glad i got a chance to taste this, kinda wish i got 2 growlers, great beer! by far one of the best ipas ive had. super smooth and velvety, affects every part of your mouth. So resinous and bitter, no amount of touth brushing or cheese eating is going to get that out of your mouth, medium bodied, ample lively carbonation and just a light acidic sourness. light acidic, back of the mouth sour on the finish. a light mustiness is present on the backend, but it is suddle. lots of ripe tropical fruitness, floral and piney as well. lemon citrus, pungent pellet/ fresh picked cone like hoppiness. behind all the hops, bits of musty funk come out more as it warms and mingle with the hops nicely. lots of lemony citrus, pungent aromas of raw freshly picked hops, floral, piney, its all there. Wow! big doses of resinous, pungent hops in the aroma. big frothy slightly off white head with great retention. pours a beautiful hazy golden orange, nice hues of red in the light. listed as 6%.Īt fridge temp, poured into a SA perfect pint glass. I took a drive to sheridan drive consumers when i seen it on there website.

This beer is smooth, balanced, and redeeming for those that appreciate Belgian-IPA hybrids, I would definitely try this beer if you are hesitant in your decision. I would be delighted to try this beer in a large 750mL bottle, but it was outstanding on tap. It was more on the expensive side, yet still more affordable than a comparable trappist on tap. I am appreciative of a beer with a dry finish, it definitely had me coming back for more (which is why so much was gone before my meal).Ībsolutely delightful midday ale that was both complex and moderate. The beer presented pungent, citrusy hops followed by a rich malty sweetness and belgian funkiness. There is a lot going on with this beer, it took more than a sip to know what it was about.

It was smooth, clean, and medium to full bodied. Not overly bitter and no gross, lingering aftertastes. I will seek out this beer again before it's gone and I am glad for a break from the heavy beers of winter. Likewise, the beer that was left did not overpower my meal either (an added bonus because a strong IPA typically lends too much bitter for a meal pairing). I finished 4/5ths of my beer before my meal even came. This is a tremendous combo and the Belgian characteristics imparted onto an already solid IPA adds remarkable depth to the flavor profile of this beer. Outstanding, I should have gotten my growler filled when I had the chance. I wasn't getting the alleged belgian yeast funkiness coming through the hops, but definitely a pungent, sweet, and hoppy beer. It makes a very intense first impression and needless to say this beer can hold its own as an IPA. There was a gingery, piney bitterness and a citrus backed sweetness that exploded all over my olfactory. The beer is more rich in complexion than I expect for most IPAs, which makes me think that it might be more of an intensely hopped amber ale. I was poured a 10oz serving of this beverage into a thick, rolled rim, glass mug (not chilled). The beer was a rich dark amber color with a sparse head, but ample carbonation. I wasn't sure that I would be able to snag this beer before next summer, but alas it was on tap at the Tusk in Syracuse.
